A Grand Day Out!
Mr Beardy!

Way back in December 2023 we took a trip to the mecca that is Warhammer World to take advantage of their special Christmas break offer of entry to the exhibition for just a single golden beer token (£1).

Access to the exhibition hall is through the shop and folding perching stools are available for those who cannot stand for long periods/need to take regular breaks due to limited mobility, these were a welcome sight as I’d been struggling with an ankle injury for some time.

The exhibition covers the full history of GW from their early days with citadel miniatures for D&D etc through to the armies and factions for the game systems we have today. Over the several rooms are hundreds of displays with thousands of painted miniatures featured in stunning dioramas.

Below is the fantastic diorama by Mike McVey produced in 1990 featuring the Emperor Vs Horus. based on the artwork by Adrian Smith. The artwork and diorama featured heavily in White Dwarf that year.

Moving through the halls, you are taken from age to age and realm to realm as you explore the history of GW.

Entry to the exhibition normally costs around £8 and is well worth the money. A guide book is also available for people to get the most out of their visit.

The detail is fascinating Forest diorama
